  1. Hewn goes above the industry standard of acceptable wood defects to remove material from their process that won’t be usable on a project.

  2. To do this, Hewn selectively culls their materials before the wood goes into the molder, color or texture process.

  3. Hewn delivers to the jobsite full usable board lengths. Nothing goes to a jobsite that needs to be cut down.

  4. Good wood goes into the Hewn process, and good wood comes out. Period.

The wood on the left is not ideal—Hewn's wood on the right is. Once this material shows up on the job site, Hewn takes the extra step and effort to ensure the installer has useable wood all the way to the ends, which creates less labor and waste.
